A local investor has paid almost $17 million for a 110-unit multifamily property on Chicago’s North Side, its second recent deal that included taking over an existing, low-interest-rate loan from the seller.

Chicago-based Bender Companies has bought two adjacent, five-story buildings at 1340 W. Morse Ave. in Rogers Park, according to that firm and Kiser Group brokers who represented the seller.

The price was $16.8 million, including the assumption of a loan, according to Kiser Group.

The seller was another Chicago-based firm, Newcastle Investors
